Principal's Summer Message

Principal's Summer Message

Dear Carolina Dragons,

Summer Break is in full swing. You should be proud of the remarkable growth, learning and achievements you have accomplished this year. We are incredibly proud of the progress made and look forward to seeing all the amazing things you will accomplish next year.

As we look ahead to the summer months, I encourage you to explore your passions, discover new interests, and create lasting memories with family and friends. Don’t forget, learning doesn’t stop during the summer. Whether you’re reading a book, exploring nature, or trying out a new hobby, every experience is an opportunity to learn and grow.

Here are a few reminders as we head into the summer:

1. Read: Reading regularly over the summer can help maintain and even advance academic skills. Encourage your child to read for fun and set aside 20 minutes a day for reading time. Don’t forget the value of read-alouds. Children love to have adults read to them, and an engaging chapter book is a great treat for a parent and child to share.

2. Stay Active: Encourage your child to stay physically active. Summer is a great time for sports, swimming, hiking, and other outdoor activities.

3. 2024-2025 School Year: We are already looking forward to another exciting school year. Please mark your calendars for the first day of school on August 1, 2024. This year marks the 75th year of excellence at CES, and we have lots to celebrate. Stay tuned for information on back-to-school events and updates.

4. Stay Connected: Follow our school’s website and social media channels for updates and important announcements throughout the summer. Please tag Carolina Elementary School as your students enjoy their summer. We’d love to see their great adventures and the books they read.

I wish everyone a fun, safe, and restful summer break. Enjoy this time with your loved ones. I can’t wait to greet you as the new principal of Carolina Elementary School when you return in August ready for another fantastic year of learning and fun.

Happy Summer,

Kacy Keels
